Children Dying at Parent's Request

People seem to want the easy button for everything. Suffering seems to be a horror to avoid at all costs, even at the expense of someone else's life. Animals are put down. We aren't animals last time I checked. But are we acting like animals more and more. Animals kill the weak or abandon them to die on their own. I thought humans had compassion that wouldn't allow for that. But I am sadly wrong.

A recent study reveals that a few physicians may have facilitated the deaths of terminally ill children at their parents' request.
The study was published in the March edition of the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Joanne Wolfe, a palliative pain specialist at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital, interviewed 141 parents of children who died of cancer.

"They had found out...in that study 19 of the parents had thought about having their child euthanized, 13 had actually talked about it seriously, five spoke to their physician about it, and in three cases, the parents said that the doctor agreed to give their child a lethal overdose and the child died," reports Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC).

He notes that the practice is illegal in all 50 states because it is euthanasia, and he says the study really points out the need for better pain management, whether it is for an adult or a child.

"The fact is that the answer is not to go out and kill the child," Schadenberg contends. "The answer is to properly care for these children. If they are to die, that they be properly cared for and die a natural death without having to suffer like that."

The EPC executive director points out that in the Netherlands, euthanizing children is occurring to the extent that the Gronigan Proticol has developed to establish guidelines to work around the law, which dictates that children under the age of 12 are not to be euthanized. He suggests that after the killing starts, it is only a matter of the rules to follow -- not whether it is right or wrong.

Murder #1 Cause of Death of Pregnant Women

We hear about domestic violence ending in death all the time. But I haven't heard too many women that are pregnant and murdered making the news. The big one was Lacy Peterson whose death and pregnancy made headlines, but there seems to be so many more.

In a report Forced Abortions in America by the Elliot Institute they found that 64% of abortions involve coercion and 65% result in trauma. One woman was reported having brought her daughter to an abortion clinic at gunpoint and death if she didn't comply. A homeless woman was denied shelter until she had an abortion. Certainly there is no choice involved for the woman and a waitress was fired for after refusing to abort her child. Story after story shows the violence against females, specifically pregnant ones. If pro choice groups are sincere about providing choice why aren't feminists and other pro choice groups not fighting for the safety and freedom to really choose for all women?

The predominant reasons women say they had an abortion are forced by mother, husband or boyfriend pursuaded her, father opposed, no option given, would be kicked out of her home, lack of support and the clinic pursuaded her. There has to be more protection of the woman as well as her unborn and males need to be educated to respect the life of the woman and the baby regardless if he wants the child or not. Many fear child support but that isn't a reason for murder. Eric Laquine Brown of Mississippi strangled his girlfriend and left her bidy in a burned out car because he "didn't want to pay child support." Well now he won't have to pay any monetary anything he is serving life in prison. But his girlfriend and the tax payers must pay dearly. "92% of women surveyed list domestic violence and assault as the women’s issue that is of highest concern to them." was stated in the report.

The Elliot Institute reports that many women are uninformed even though they are unsure of their decisions. "54% were unsure of their decision, yet 67% received no counseling beforehand. • 84% received inadequate counseling beforehand. 79% were not told about alternatives." It is shocking to read the overwhelming evidence.

The Elliot Institute provided over 130 examples, with names listed on the report, plus references where more stories can be read.

It seems strange that women don't have a real choice, fearing that abortion is the only way out of a bad situation. Adoption is always an option.

Children should be taught the value of life in school. An adopted child is as valuable as any other. I am personally most grateful for the adoption plan for my own life. Maybe if we were teaching the value of life from a young age less children would grow up thinking life is meaningless adn disposable.

Please read the report by the Elliot Institute and help educate others. Let your children know that adoption is always an option. They just may be the one that needs to know.

The driver stopped ab...ruptly, backed up the car and called me over, saying, 'we want a free ultrasound, and can we get it right now?' It seems they wanted to keep the baby. So, I think it was important for us just being there and directing the mother to a safer place. But the 'free ultrasound coupon', did get them to stop and talk. That's the main purpose of it."

Emmanuel, God Is With Us
Since the conclusion of the last 40 Days for Life prayer vigil at the Womancare abortion clinic in Lathrup Village, I have continued to pray at the clinic with several other people on Friday mornings as it is a day when abortions are usually performed.
On Friday, May 8, 2009, after dropping off my two sons at Holy Name School in Birmingham, I attended Mass in the chapel. The gospel reading was from John 14:1-6. Verse 6 reads "Jesus said to him (Thomas), ‘I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.’" In his homily, the priest said that as members of the mystical body of Christ, we are the visible signs of Christ on Earth; we, therefore, are the "Way". After communion, I prayed that today I would have the grace to see Christ in others and that others would also see Christ in me and that the Lord would use me as His instrument to do His Holy Will.
Emmanuel, God Is With Us.
I arrived at the abortion clinic at approximately 9:15 a.m. and began to pray the Rosary. Shortly after I arrived, Howard, a retired teacher and widower who had lost several children to abortion when he was a youth, arrived at the abortion mill to pray and Sidewalk Counsel expectant moms. Howard, who is a Black American, is particularly committed to being a witness to the many clients who come to abortion mills. On this day, two days before Mothers’ Day, Howard brought with him a homemade sign with the words "Happy Mothers Day" written in bold black letters. He also brought a bucket of fresh lilacs. They were snipped from a bush in his yard. The lilacs were offered to the expectant moms. I am inspired by Howard’s faithfulness and commitment to the Pro-Life cause. He is often seen pushing a stroller with a poster that graphically displays photos of an 8-week old developing fetus and an 8-week old aborted fetus. He is unabashedly bold in his witness and in his desire to prick the consciences of abortion seekers. He also is frequently seen holding a sign reading "I Regret Lost Fatherhood." Howard has shared his personal story with me of being immature and promiscuous in his youth and consequently losing his own children through abortion. He subsequently "grew up", married, and he and his wife were blessed with three children. He so regrets the loss of his other children, however, that he is committed to witnessing to the lies about abortion and tries to dissuade mothers and fathers from making the same regrettable mistakes he has had to live with. Emmanuel, God Is With Us.
A car arrived with three people in it. A young African American couple who appeared to be in their teens and a woman possibly in her forties. The teenagers got out of the car and headed for the clinic door. Howard wished the young woman a Happy Mothers’ Day and to the man he said, "Happy Father's Day". She responded angrily, "Don’t talk to me", as she walked briskly into the slaughter house. I noticed that the other woman remained in the car. As I approached, I saw that she was on her cell phone, but she indicated a willingness to engage in conversation, so I waited. I recognized her as a Christian by the gold cross that hung on a chain around her neck. When we finally spoke, I learned that she was the mother of the young man and therefore the grandmother of the unborn child. She said that she and her son were against the abortion, but that his girlfriend did not want to go through this pregnancy and have the baby. She wanted to continue school. Despite being against her decision, both mother and son felt they must support her "deadly choice". The expectant grandmother shared that she herself had a similar issue as a teenager, but chose life when she became pregnant. She is the mother of four children and she lamented, "This would have been my first grandchild." I encouraged her to go into the clinic to try to save her grandchild. However, she was resigned to the inevitable abortion that would take the life of her grandchild, telling me: "I know this is wrong. I don’t believe in abortion, but these young people need to learn on their own. They have to learn the hard way."
Emmanuel, God Is With Us
Feeling that I had said all that I could, I gave her a business card from Mother & Unborn Baby Care in case her son and his girlfriend emerged from the clinic. Before I walked away, I asked her name. She said her name was Robin and I promised to pray for her and her unborn grandchild. I gave her a sprig of lilacs.My friend Barbara arrived to pray and I explained what was happening and together we prayed for Robin.A short time later, Robin’s son came out of the abortion clinic and joined his mom in the car. I walked over and offered to speak with him. He did not want his child to be aborted, but didn’t think he could change his girlfriend’s mind. I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Barbara. She handed me exactly what we needed at that moment – a brochure with photos showing the development of a baby in its first weeks of life, as well as photos of the remains of an aborted baby at the same stage of development. The young man and I looked at the brochure together. "If your girlfriend has missed a couple periods, your baby is likely about 8 weeks old," I explained. Together, we read about the developing biological systems of an 8-week old baby in the womb. "Everything is in place and your baby will just continue to grow," I said. "The baby will definitely feel pain if aborted." I encouraged him to go back in the clinic and share this information with his girlfriend. Before I walked away, I asked, "What is your name?" "Emmanuel," he replied. Immediately, the words came from my lips, "You shall bear a son, and you shall name him Emmanuel, God with us." Robin looked at me and then at her son. "That’s why I named you Emmanuel," she said.I looked at Emmanuel. "God is with you, Emmanuel. You can do this. Go in there and save your baby and your mom’s grandchild. We are all out here praying for you." I looked at Robin. "Robin, I thought about what you had said earlier. ‘This would have been my first grandchild.’ This is your first grandchild and always will be."I pointed Howard out to Emmanuel and told him that Howard had lost children to abortion and personally knows the pain and regret that men suffer because of abortion. Emmanuel approached Howard. They talked and Howard gave him another pamphlet detailing the civil cases filed against the abortionist, Hodari, for malpractice including the deaths of two women.
Emmanuel, God Is With Us
I looked for Barbara to thank her for providing me with the brochure that I had given to Emmanuel. She had already left. I also needed to leave, but before I left I asked others to also pray for Emmanuel. In my car as I drove away, I prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for Emmanuel, his girlfriend, their unborn child, and for the child’s grandmother, Robin.A few hours later I left Howard a voicemail. "Please let me know what the outcome was with Emmanuel and his girlfriend and their baby." Howard returned my call later that afternoon. "I have good news," he said. "Emmanuel and his girlfriend are keeping their baby." He had seen Emmanuel and his girlfriend come out of the clinic to speak with Robin. He then observed the three of them leaving and going into the Rib Rack restaurant, south of the clinic, apparently to talk. A while later, Emmanuel returned to speak with Howard. "So, what’s happening?" Howard asked. "We are definitely keeping the baby," Emmanuel joyfully reported. I felt a sense of exhilaration at the news Howard had just shared with me. This was my first time being a part of a "turn around", an unborn baby saved from abortion.I have spiritually adopted Emmanuel’s baby and I pray that he or she continues to be safe from abortion. I also pray for the baby’s mother, Emmanuel, and Robin that they will remain convicted in their resolve to protect and respect this new life. Upon reflection of this experience I am amazed and humbled by God’s grace. It is remarkable to me how He used those of us present at the abortion clinic that day to assist one another in helping people in crisis.I also reflected upon the early morning Mass I had attended and remembered:Jesus’s words in the Gospel. "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life."The homily. You are the visible sign of Christ who is the Way. You are His voice, His feet, His hands.Receiving the Eucharist. Our Savior who humbly became one of us by taking on our human flesh wishes us to become Him and to that end He nourishes us with His own body and blood in the form of bread and wine.My communion prayer. Lord, please use me today as an instrument to do your Holy Will.
Emmanuel, God Is With Us
God spoke to me through a teenager named Emmanuel. I am more aware now that every time we are at an abortion mill, God is indeed with us. God is alive in every human being because He created us in His image. When we go to the abortion mill to pray or to counsel we are Christ’s visible image to the abortionist and his employees and to the desperate mothers and fathers who come seeking an abortion. Emmanuel, God Is With UsJesus is especially with us hidden in the wombs of the mothers coming to the abortion mill. Our Lord humbled himself and came into the world as a vulnerable baby who was once an embryo and a fetus dependent upon the Blessed Mother. We are reminded of this every time we pray, "Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. I also recall Bishop Flores’s message when he led a prayer service last year at the Womancare abortion clinic. When we come to the abortion mill, we are at Calvary. When a baby is killed through abortion, Christ is crucified all over again. We stand at the foot of the cross as witnesses along with our Blessed Mother.
Emmanuel, God Is With Us
This experience was a gift from God. Let us not give in to the temptation of discouragement wondering if our prayers or our presence at abortion mills are worth the effort or if they make any difference at all. We must remember we have a purpose for being there – God is with us. I pray the Lord has a special plan for Emmanuel. Perhaps he will become a bold Pro-Life advocate within the African American community. For now, I hope he realizes that God is with him and his precious unborn baby.

After all is said and done, Emmanuel, God Is With Us.

Praying for Dr Hodari's Conversion with Pro-Life Saints

On March 25, during the 40 Days For Life campaign, one of our prayer warriors had an encounter with Dr Hodari on Southfield Rd.

This is what happened:
She writes: I was praying alone (8-9 am) when Dr Hodari pulled up and parked in the front lot (it's unusual to see him park in the front lot - he always parks in back of the building, or off-site somewhere and has an employee drive him in.) He took a long time getting out of his car. I stopped walking and stood praying, in front of his car, that I would find the right words to speak to him. As he got out I said to him gently, "Dr. Hodari, I just want you to know how hard I have been praying for you. I fast every Wed and Fri---I don't eat anything all day---and I offer that for you--that you will have a change of heart about what you are doing".
He never said a word or made eye contact but I felt he was listening... and he looked very sad and frail.
This is very different than the arrogant confident attitude he has always seemed to have in the past and it moved me very much and raised my hopes! Especially in light of the experience I had a week ago!

Last week while we were praying the rosary here at the abortion mill, our group dedicated the 5th sorrowful mystery for Dr. Hodari's conversion. As I meditated on the cruifixion I was thinking of St Longinus holding the spear that pierced the heart of Jesus---and of how he was converted.

Suddenly I saw very clearly---almost like a small vision---the face of Dr Hodari's guardian angel! His face was radiant with joy and at the same time a terrible fierce look of determination - like one who is going to war. I understood that his angel was overjoyed that we were praying for this lost soul in his charge.... and then I noticed Dr. Hodari kneeling off to the side. Almost immediately the angel turned, lifted the spear into his hand and very forcefully thrust it into Dr Hodari's heart. It was such a short vision but I have been so happy thinking that maybe God was letting me/us know that our prayers are beginning to bear fruit in his soul. I don't believe that the work is completed but that something powerful has begun.

I have a very deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, and I don't believe it was a coincidence that this encounter with Dr. Hodari happened on March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation - the day we celebrate the Incarnation of Christ!

How was your Good Friday?

I went to the Summit Medical Center on 6 Mile Rd. in Detroit yesterday because American Family Planning in Dearborn was closed. (They are always closed on Good Friday.) By the time I arrived Summit had already been open for a couple of hours but I passed out literature to 26 people over a period of 6 hours(most of it in the first 3 hours) and got the numbers of two pregnant women who said they'd like some help with their pregnancy.

I forwarded those numbers to Mike, so he can contact the women and set up appointments for free ultrasounds. He and some of the other pro-lifers will drive them to a pregnancy center for the ultrasound and follow up during the pregnancy.)

Mike spoke to one of the women, Delisa, yesterday afternoon. She said Summit had previously told her the abortion would cost $215, based on the age of the baby. She had verified the baby's age through an ultrasound at an independent clinic that does not do abortions, but when she came to Summit they wanted to charge her an extra $100, saying her baby was older than it really was. She left because she did not have that much money but has decided instead of returning that she will keep her baby.

I didn't have any problems other than the security guard calling the police on me twice.

I was never on clinic property but was on the public sidewalk at all times. I stood across the street to avoid confrontations, but crossed the street when people entered or left the building to pass out literature. The first police officer was friendly but asked me to stand across the street. He didn't give me any legal reason for his order but I said okay and walked across the street.

The second police officer, who came an hour or two later, accused me of standing in the street blocking traffic. He told me to stay across the street and off clinic property or he would cite me for loitering.

The only time I was in the street was when I was crossing to pass out literature. When I crossed the street I stopped momentarily to make sure no cars were turning the corner, but there were no cars approaching and I was not blocking traffic. I don't know if he was referring to that or if he just made up the accusation out of thin air.

I told him I had not been on clinic property, that I had only been on the public sidewalk, but he didn't want to hear that. The security guard told him I had been warned once already to stay across the street and the officer told me that was two strikes against me, and that if he had to return I would be cited.

This is an example of what can happen when Christians witness alone at abortion mills. Any unbiased witness would verify that I was not on clinic property and that I was not blocking traffic. It was an attempt to intimidate me and keep me on the other side of the street away from anyone who might want some help.

I won't be going to Summit very often unless American Family Planning closes. I have heard a rumor that the owner of AFP (the abortionist) might be planning to sell the building and retire. I have no way of knowing if that is true, but whether it is lor not, I will be praying, as always, for God to put a love in the hearts of American Christians for the unborn children which they do not currently have.

Saturday, 3/21, around 10am, Officer Becker stopped by to say the police received calls that we were harassing people at Womanuncare. He went on to say that, "you should not look at them, talk or shout to or at them, or try to interact with them". In retort, I told him that we sign a statement that we would not harass or act violently toward any of the clients. And I told him that we "give them a greeting, we offer them literature, we ask them if they would like free ultrasounds and counselling and to give their babies up for adoption?" If they want to interact with us, we will do that. If they don't want to, we stop talking to them, but we continue to pray for them, that they will give their babies life.

Now here's the rest of the story: the couple that filed the complaint had taken a lady friend inside for an abortion. They first parked in the parking lot by Sfield Rd. Someone tried to engage them in conversation. They hurled at us a mouth full of insults, going into and coming out of the mill. As they got into their truck, they dropped their cell phone. Then they roared off. But five minutes later, they return and drive up to the abortion mills front door. Someone gave me the phone so I called out to the cussing lady as she went into the mill, "Is this your cell phone?" She took some steps inside the door, but turned around and headed toward me. She said, "Yah, that's my phone, how did you get it?" I just had to be a smart #@$%! so I said, "I'll return it, if you change your mind and don't get an abortion". The woman said, @#$%! to me. I was speechless.
As they backed out, they ran into another car that was also backing out of a parking space. Minor damage was done. But guess who they wanted to blame for the accident? You guessed right: me. I was reported to the police as the cause and harasser of those nice folks. So you see folks as long as I'm around, you can do anything and I'll get the blame.
So all of that takes me to the meeting on procedures we had last week at the Problem Pregnancy office to make sure we were all on the same page with our approach as sidewalk counsellors.
We decided to follow the Helpers of God's Precious Infants techniques.
There are five things we say initially:
Greeting: Smile. Look into her eyes, say:
Hi mom, God bless you.
My name is _________.
I'm here on behalf of pro-life.
Here take this: (give a rosary or some prolife literature to get her to slow down)

Empathy: As the woman walks to the abortion door, say:

Many woman going in have real problems, We understand that.

Warning:
If you take the baby out, its like ice water for a fever. The fever goes down for five minutes, but comes right back.
The same things happen to you. The problems will appear to go away, but will come right back. But in this case , thousands of times worse.
We have free help for you throughout your pregnancy (show the literature).
Help Available: ( If the woman hesitates)
Describe the help available at the centers close by ( show literature ):
Free pregnancy tests, counselling, ultrasounds, even free medical help can be arranged in many cases.
Something Spiritual: Always end with:
We are praying hard that you will continue to give your baby life or Please, Have Mercy on Your Baby.

Lastly, when interacting with clients do so without shouting at them.

Last week at the abortion mill on Southfield Rd we had a wonderful thing happened.

While Michelle and Howard were walking and praying, in front of the Woman(don't)care abortion mill, a lady drove up and said, "I'm so impressed to see a man carrying a sign admitting some blame and sorrow for abortion".

The sign read: I regret lost Fatherhood.

The lady said to us that she was on her way to adopt her ninth child. She furthermore said she could not understand why people did not give their babies up for adoption instead of abortion because the ones she has adopted are such a joy. The lady was ask to come back and pray with us. She indicated that was very possible.

On Friday the 13th (the date, Our Lord legendly died for us) she came back with six of her adopted children and her Pastor, in a stretch van. Six children and three adults.

They were really a joy to see and hear.

They put there little chairs on the medium, sat in them with their signs. The signs read things like: My Mom said yes to life, Honk for life, We are Pro-Life and Love It.

God blessed all who saw them. They were running and jumping and shouting and laughing and giggling and smiling. What an incredible experience and a beautiful day that we all had. The sun was sunning and the heavens was smiling and rejoicing when they were there.

We took a picture of them and will post it when we get the right cable.

And all of this joy was given to us because we (the 40 days for lifers) dared to carry signs showing our involvement, be in front of Woman(don't)care abortion mill, and pray that God's will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Thank you dear Lord for the little children.

Denise, the young lady that chose not to kill her baby on Feb 28 is still determined to save her baby. Earlier she was influenced to move to the westside from the eastside by her "nice" boyfriend. She surmised that was a tactic to isolate her from her family and other friends and as a form of control by him.
Sunday we talked and she told me she is going to a pregnancy aid clinic somewhere on the other side of town. The referral name came from some literature she was given.
Steve, Dr. Lisa and the other prayer warriors were praying for us as we made our escape from the abortion mill.
Wow, can you picture these two guys in their car laughing, joking around and doing whatever as this lady was to be doing herself in with an abortion.
But they were so occupied or blinded with their "stuff", the Lord allowed them not to see what was going on right under their noses, as we stole away.
Is this what it was like with the abolitionists as they hide the slaves and stole away under the cloak of darkness? Whew! Day-ja-voo, all over again.
Well we are trying to do the Lord's work as we hobble-a-long in His vineyard.
I agree with you Steve, this man's work is abit exciting at times.

It's hard work, isn't it Howard?
(The following is actually for those who have never prayed in front of an abortion mill.)
I wondered if anyone would come on a very cold windy night to the Women Care Center in Southgate for the candle-light vigil to our Lenten Life Mission. It was scheduled for 7:30 but Amanda arrived at 7 pm, followed by Linda, then Jenny, Libby, Rosalie, Joe, Mary, and Jack. Later on, a stranger, a young mother carrying her little girl, and then a young man (the husband?) joined the group. It was very cold but I think all felt a warm heart of solidarity. Mary sang songs of praise (we tried to follow) and Joe led the Rosary. One, a non-Catholic Christian said, “I’m so glad I came; I really enjoyed listening as everyone prayed the Rosary.” Some passing cars honked in sign of unity.
Yesterday, at 7 am, Jenny prayed in front of the ‘mill’ in spite of her cold. Jill prayed from 2-3pm. I don’t know how they felt but I had a hard time stepping out of my comfort zone. I walked up and down (to keep warm) praying the Rosary. Was I being a fool? I debated whether or not to finish praying out of sight, in the car. However, every time I came to the corner, a crucifix edged on the cement seemed to pull me back, giving me strength to continue. Getting ready to leave, a friend from work knocked on my car window; he would take up the next hour and pray.
Today, 7:30am, there was Jenny again, praying all by herself. I went straight after work. It’s hard to hold a sign reading –A Pregnant Woman Needs Help, Not Abortion- all by yourself. I wondered if God really was calling me to visibly pray there. A worker walked out. Our eyes meet as she went to 7-Eleven. On her way back to the ‘mill’, she lights a cigarette and asked me something. Since I couldn’t hear clearly, she walked up to me, asked some questions and then said, “Will you pray for me that I get a new job?” A different job, she said and added that today she convinced a 17 week pregnant girl not to have an abortion. That made my feeling ridiculous worthwhile! I guess I will continue to leave my comfort zone.
May you feel encouraged to stop, say some prayers, and be on your way. (Catholics: say a Rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet, very powerful!)
God governs the world; prayer governs God. It pleases Him to hear your voice.
All for the glory of our Lord!

Today we got a definite save, thanks to Steve D, Dr. Lisa and two prayer warriors.

Saturday 2/28/09, was a day filled with excitement at the Womancare abortion mill.
Let me set the stage first:
The KofC from Blessed Sacrament Cathedral signed up for 10-11am each Sat for the vigil.
A seminarian from Sacred Heart Seminary came, not dressed for the weather. He obviously missed Steve's demo on how to dress for the coldest, windiest corner that we know of. Lucky for him, in the van, there were some hats and gloves from the fall campaign.
He took the sign, "honk for life" onto the medium. And got alot of approving honks, which made us feel encouraged. While there he prayed the rosary as he walked shivering (brrr!!) back and forth, in the wind. He said it's cold, but I will offer it up. Brave soul. I think he will be a good priest, because he knows how to sacrifice and shows it..

Steve Dawson, Dr Lisa and a recent convert and myself were praying and talking religion in the mid-way of the sidewalk, just in front of the mill's doors.
A lady casually walked out with her head bowed down. She walked toward the southern end of the abortion mill, where the sidewalk and the driveway meet.
She stopped at the corner of the building, leaning up against it, head down. I approached here cautiously thinking she was an escort and being remorseful.
I offered her a rosary, as a conversational opener. She didn't speak as tears beginning to roll down her cheeks. (When I'm with a person [woman] and they begin to cry, I become putty in their hands. Don't let my secret out, ok?) So I begin to ask with her to tell me what's wrong. She begin to say, "I just can't do it. I just can't do it."
Smart me asks her: do what? (Duuhh!)
Now she begins to tell me: Her boyfriend and another fellow had drop her off 10 minutes earlier and taken her inside to have the abortion. They went back to the car to wait. Then she came back outside after several minutes. One of the fellows in the car came up to her and gave her a bottle of water, then went back to his car, without saying a word. Probably to intimidate her. I called to Steve to keep praying and be alert because this was a live wire situation and there was no way to tell what might happen next, with the fellows.
Steve and the others must have been praying awfully hard, because I begin to get emotional and more protective for the lady's situation.
I offer to take her to a coffee shop to talk. She begin to say, "I just want to go home." (Later she told me she had an eight year old child.)
I offer her a ride home, after she told me her friends in the car had other plans.

Now here is where we must be careful, and get away from here without the guys in the car being aware of her leaving, with me.
I pointed out my car to her, which was in a distant parking lot, and told her to meet me there. The guys in the car were busy doing something else and didn't see her slip away. They tried calling her several times, on her cell, as I was driving her home. She didn't answer. Steve kept an eye on the two and called to say the guys went into the abortion mill looking for her, came out then drove around the block looking for her. By that time, I had gotten her back home, which was about 10 mile away.
On the way to her apartment in the 7 mile road and Telegraph area, she told me that he is really a nice guy. She had mentioned that he did not demand her to get the abortion, but he said: we have grown children and we don't need anymore. She originally agreed. So he begin to suggest, then pressure her to make an appointment and to finally go inside and have the abortion by herself.
She is on Section 8. Which is a form of welfare, no doubt.
She was given a packet of pro-life literature, with the 1-800 and other Problem Pregnancy numbers inside. We exchanged phone numbers so I could keep in touch with her progress.
I have a feeling her situation may become dangerous if her fellow comes around and has not changed his attitude. Please pray for her and our mission of life.

We need to think also about being Pro-active: preparing for life-saving situations. Contact your local Problem Pregnancy office. Volunteer, Learn, Pray.

Judy and Steve, are husband and wife team that go often to the (un)womancare abortion mill (wcam) on Southfield Rd in Lathrup, Mich.

This day after arriving Judy was by the south driveway and sidewalk making herself obvious for an irate lady sitting in her car by the alley parking lot.

Judy said the lady had told her it was none of her business why she had received an abortion, the baby was her property, and her choice, or something to that affect.

Judy was determined to show her sign, in a non-threatening fashion, and praying the lady would have a change of heart.

While in that vicinity, another lady, came from the alley lot, with her daughter and started yelling in Judy's face saying it's our choice (speaking for herself and daughter who had walked ahead of her). But the daughter did get flashed with the sign HAVE MERCY ON YOUR BABY!, and a plea to take some literature. The mother shouted, "I've had an abortion and it didn't kill me and besides I've had four beautiful children. So who are you to tell us what to do? This is our choice. I'm a doctor in the inner-city and there are plenty of crack babies that need aborted. "

And someone on our team said, "if you are a doctor, you are suppose to be saving life,aren't you?"

No answer. But she stormed off to the abortion mill, but not before being flashed with the home made sign about how angry and suicidal aborted women can become. Judy commented that lady was really angry, and not over her abortion. I agreed.

Ten to fifteen min. later, they came out of the mill. They didn't speak, but their walking and attitude was more upbeat. It was like they had a good report of some sort. They were moving too fast for us to ask, "what was your decision, are you going to give your baby life, or are you not pregnant?"

Lesson re learned: it's important to try to remain focus on being non-violent, prayerful, and helpful to the people.
Most of them are very confused, angry, and driven by raw emotions.
If we don't argue with them, the wind is removed from their sails, so to speak. But If we continue to bless them, many times this also puts them into a different more acceptable frame of mind.
We may be that important beacon of hope that they need to see to make a positive choice and give life to their babies.
There's a practice of going over your materials and your script and praying the night before going to your abortion mill location, that I'm trying to continue doing. It helps to get me focused and to remember Whose Work I'm being called to do and why.
Let us keep praying for each other also.

Happy Saint Valentine's Day to everyone. The following tells about a "save" for Our Lord, with the help of St. Valentine.
Today when I arrived at the abortion mill, Marcia gave me a run-down on the people who had parked their cars in the lot and have gone inside the death chambers. Shortly afterwards, a couple came out.
Have you ever seen a mountain move?
Marcia approached them quickly and asked them a question or two, it was to low for me to be heard. Whatever it was, the girl said, "we are going to keep the baby", with a sound of happiness in her voice, but abit hesitant. The guy was in agreement, with a nod. It was like he was saying, "I must be a man about this."
And I had to throw my two cents in by saying, "you are a lucky guy to change your mind because your fiance may become a different woman after having an abortion. Some woman start raising Unholy H.......L afterwards. And alot of the relationships fall apart shortly after the abortion."
Strange thing happened, I could hear some voices behind me saying, "A..l..r..i..g..h..t !!!!!".
I could have sworn it sounded like Steve D. and Barb Y. But, Steve wasn't there and Barb was busy praying her rosary about ten feet away or was she? I wonder if Steve was somewhere praying for us. (Hmm, I'll have to ask him. After all I saw him being blessed by Francis the Stigmatist.) Maybe the noise was from the cars driving by or maybe the snowflakes hitting the ground. Or maybe I'm just getting old. (Laugh.)
But didn't Our Lord say that "all of heaven rejoices when just one comes back (or repents) to His calling ?"
What a feeling to watch a mountain move or listen to someone change their mind about an abortion at death's door. Wow!
And the folks did say they were Christian and they accepted a prayer item from me. And furthermore they indicated they were going to get married. (Please say a prayer for them.)
Wow!!! Alright!! Great going Marcia!! Barb your prayers are so powerful ! And the regular prayer warriors, were busy shouting, "Hail Mary, full of.........!" I'm on cloud nine. What a blessing.
Once again, I have seen how The Lord allows us to make a mountain move. Let us continue to answer His calling.

Prayer Power affects abortion Outcomes

In this blog I (we) will share real life stories, useful information and helpful suggestions that can be used for sidewalk counselling at abortion clinics, at home, at work with friends or with someone near and dear to you. It should not hurt to give loving advice or to care for someone's life now or in the future.

First a story:
Sat 2/7/09 at the Womancare abortion clinic (wcac) there were about ten prayer warriors praying for an end to abortion. They are considered prayer warriors because they have been showing up on a regular basics for the last 15 years or so.
There is an interesting thing about prayer power.
As a materialist, one can easily say: you can't see prayer or feel it, so how can you tell if prayer power really exist and make things happen? Well here's one case of the effects of prayer power, that was relayed to me by a women that had contemplated getting an abortion.

One evening while on a late shift (about 9pm) during a 40 day for life (40DFL) vigil at an abortion mill, a lady and her son came up to us, very cautiously. She said, "you folks look cold out here, so my son and I want to stop by and talk to you. Do you mind if we pray with you also?" We told her she could can join us. We prayed for several minutes. Then she said, " twelve years ago I was in this abortion mill. While on the table, to have an abortion, I had this strong urge that I was doing the wrong thing. So, I jumped off the table and told the doctor that I was not going to have an abortion, and I left that place as quick as possible."
I asked her why did she change her mind and left the place? She said there was a nagging thought and feeling she was doing the wrong thing by having an abortion. And this 12 year old child with me now is God's precious gift to me. I cannot imagine my life without him. He even wanted to be baptised, on his own, at eight years old. He's been a blessing to me since he was born. I am very thankful that this child was not aborted. And I'm very thankful that you people are out here praying for us misguided women." (Prayer power works.)
This was news to the boy standing there with us. His eyes got as big as sauces and became filled with water. Mother and son hugged each other warmly and long, with tears flowing.
There had been no pray warriors outside at that time, but they had been there earlier in the day and in the week praying for potential abortees. We'd like to think that we are doing God's work: we are in sales (we pray, talk and fast) and God is in management (He calls, selects and guides).
So you see, you can do something for saving babies in a non-violent way.
We would like you in front of abortion mills praying for misguided women, going to kill their babies. If you can't pray in front of abortion mills, stop by, if you see us outside praying and give us your blessing, pray as you drive by, pray at home or in church. And remember, Our Lord said, "whenever there are two or three together in My Name, there I am in your midst".

We are so grateful that you stop by when we are praying. That let's us know that you are with us and encouraging us to continue.
All of your prayers make a bigger impact then you will ever kno, as you have seen.

Let the still small voice of God continue to inspire and bless you to save lives of the unborn and their mothers.

Ending abortion is AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME

This is the beginning of the Pro-Life, Pro-Active sidewalk counsellor(s) blogspot. May it serve the cause of advancing the actuality of saving babies in the womb. The hope also is that this site will be viewed and used by people who want to contribute, have contributed, or who want to further their involvement, in saving mothers and fathers from making a major horrible decision.
This site will attempt to list reasons why not to abort, how to be pro-life and pro-active and avoid situations that lead to pregnances, how to talk to someone that is pregnant and thinking about an abortion, what their rights are as a pregnant person, what you could do and say as a potential father, what an abortion will do to mother and father physically, mentally and socially (if you believe and know God: spiritually).
We'll also mentioned what happens when someone chooses not to have an abortion. Not to mention when someone has had the baby and returns to share their baby with us.
We all are affected by abortions in many ways, whether we know it or not. We will go into how deep the affects will penetrate all of us.
There are about 4000 abortions done in the U.S.A. daily. One of those abortions may have happened to a friend, a family person, or a neighbor that you know.
